Real-life English learning for adults and teenagers is offered across 8 levels and covers A1 to B2 levels of Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).


 A Placement Test is administered to determine the most suitable starting level for a student.

English Language training for people working or hoping to work in: Nursing/Health industry, Hospitality industry, IT  industry

 

MetaTOUCH - General English for Adults & Teenagers

 

The program is suitable for both adults and young adults (teenagers) and offers English language training at 8 different levels of proficiency. A free placement test is used to determine student's starting level.


This Cambridge University Press program is based on extensive research into how people actually use English and teaches students the grammar, vocabulary, and conversation strategies they need to communicate fluently and successfully in today's modern world. The emphasis is on using English for communicative purposes.


Its unique comprehensive syllabus also offers truly communicative pronunciation, listening, reading, and writing tasks. Students are guaranteed lively lessons of personalized, learner-centered interaction exposure to natural English and the development of learning strategies that students can take beyond the classroom.

MetaVital currently covers three industries. Each program facilitates learner access to tertiary study and employment in the relevant industry sector in their home countries or abroad.

 

English for IT (Information Technology)


The program is designed specifically for people working or hoping to work in the IT industry.

Recommended For:

  • Learners wanting to develop their English skills and learn strategies for tertiary study in the IT field

  • Those employed in or seeking high-level jobs involving IT, either in their own home country or abroad

  • Anyone wanting to improve their general English proficiency.

 

Future Pathways:

The program facilitates learner access to tertiary study in the Information Technology field and to employment in the Information Technology sector in their home countries or abroad.

Suitability

Outcome

At the end of this module, learners are expected to be able to use the computer toolbars, keyboard and navigation bar as well as the interactions used to present the courseware; have developed their receptive (listening & reading) and productive (reading & speaking) skills.

At the end of this module learners are expected to read texts and listen to discussions on IT topics.

At the end of this module learners are expected to be technically proficient in terms of understanding the navigation bar and completing online materials; have a range of general and specialist vocabulary.

At the end of this module learners are expected to have the English language proficiency and confidence necessary to engage effectively in the IT field.

 

English for Hospitality


The program is designed specifically for people working or hoping to work in the hospitality industry. It provides interactive learning material for learners to practice their language skills at an Elementary level.

Recommended For:

  • Learners intending to work in the hospitality industry

  • Learners already working in the hospitality industry but facing difficulty communicating with guest and colleagues

Future Pathways


The program facilitates learner access to tertiary study in hospitality field and to employment in the hospitality sector in their home countries or abroad.

At the end of this module, learners are expected to be able to: take telephone calls for purposes such as taking phone messages, taking reservations, giving information and answering questions.

At the end of this module learners are expected to be able to: receive guests at the Front Desk or restaurant reception, ask for information, explain services and facilities politely respond to guests when unable to help.

At the end of this module learners are expected to be able to: give directions inside and outside the hotel, respond to room service and housekeeping requests, take orders in a restaurant café or bar.

At the end of this module learners are expected to be able to: deal with complaints process bills deal with payment problems.


 

English for Health

This course aims at developing the listening and speaking skills necessary to communicate in a health-related context. There is an emphasis on vocabulary, both academic and specific health terminology.

Recommended for:

  • Learners intending to work in the health industry.

  • Learners already working in the health industry but facing difficulty communicating with patients and colleagues
